The Government's Ultimate Role
I believe that the government should tailor any education system to benefit the learner in the present, and in the future. It should empower the learner to benefit economically eventually. It must be economically competitive to cater to the needs of Wanjiku fully. It must be politically and socially beneficial to Wanjiku. The education system must not be too short-lived such that it doesn't meet desired goals.
A good education system must bring on board all the key players. These key players include local leaders, education officers, teachers, parents, and learners. The key players must be involved during the plotting, scrutiny, and implementation of the education system. The key players shall play, a vital role during the initial conception of the idea to have a new education system in the country. In the same breadth, the key players must be aboard the scrutiny of the accepted education system. Everyone must contribute freely to the evaluation of the draft system before final implementation. They should be at liberty to interrogate the values, visions, and missions of the education system.
It is during implementation that teething problems are expected. The stakeholders must be very keenly active to evaluate the newborn education system.
A critical survey of the progress in the system is paramount for the final success of the newborn system. This critical survey is important and should allow subtraction and addition to the content. Immediately need for any subtraction or addition arises, it should be done wisely and technically. Education materials and book publishers must be involved here. They should immediately adjust their contents without necessarily publishing new books.
The critical survey may finally refine the system almost to another new education system at a cheaper rate.
