The Ineffective Local SEOs

                                                                          New!

๐Ÿ˜…New Era, New Promises, New Systems, New Voices, New Ideas. Does Wanjiku need these? Wanjiku, here we come, with a brand new Education System. And, just asking curiously; What is the role of a Senior Education Officer(SEO) in education๐Ÿ’?

                                                                      The SEO, And The System

I see a situation where the SEO ๐Ÿ˜€is not conversant with the actual content in the education system. Is the SEO aware of what the child is learning at school? Is the SEO in touch with Wanjiku, in terms of her opinion on the education system at hand? Do you know that SEO spends most of the time in service receiving, dispatching, and signing circulars and many other documents๐Ÿ˜“?

๐Ÿ˜ซThe circulars and other documents are not on how best can be done to improve the education standards as per the needs of Wanjiku.No.The SEO uses the circulars and documents to monitor teachers’ attendance and population, the school infrastructure, the pupils’ attendance, and population, watchmen employed, books, other learning, and teaching materials purchased, the school means scores, and how many BOG meetings have been held. All these are silent on how the benefits of the system to Wanjiku. The SEO terms of service, seemingly, have nothing to do with Wanjiku๐Ÿ™Š.

                                                                          The SEO, AndWanjiku

๐Ÿ’Radical changes must be done to bring these officers aboard. . Whether the SEO is the county boss, sub-county boss, or whichever level the SEO is, they should in the forefront to monitor and advise the government on the education system. Each SEO should have the education needs for Wanjiku at their fingertips daily ๐Ÿ™‹. The officers should monitor the relevance of the education system at hand.

The System, As A Political Tool

Politics; Politics; Politics, in all fields. Must we wait for politicians to change and in some cases, mess up with the education system? Apart from the SEO on the ground, teachers are in direct contact with Wanjiku. The teachers are in touch with the feelings and opinions of Wanjiku.✌They can advise the ministry of education on the merits and demerits of the education system through their immediate SEO. This will put off politicians not again use education as a political campaign tool. Let them use roads, water, electricity, and title deeds, and not the education system. The management of the system is the prerogative single duty of education experts๐Ÿ˜’.

                                                                      The Role Of Our Universities

Kenya is rich and blessed with many education scholars and education engineers ๐Ÿ™Œ. Our universities have many educationists. The parliament should come up with legislation where our universities have permanent task forces on the education system in Kenya. This will enable the body to interrogate the SEO in the field on the wellness of the education system at hand. It will also detach our education system from politics. Furthermore, the university research institutions shall be seen doing their work accordingly. Do you think the government will save money spent on the appointment of politically born task forces☺?

                                                                    Our Local Languages, Worthiness

Though the Kenyan education system should be in line with global goals, it should focus chiefly on our needs and goals. ๐Ÿ™‹Each SEO should be facilitated by the government, in educational tours to learn how education systems are tailored toward the needs of the local consumer.

๐Ÿ™‰Some countries mainly learn in their local languages. Japan and China, the Asian superpowers, do they learn in either French or English? These are among the G7 and leading economies. Is it possible to promote our local languages in our homegrown education systems? Kiswahili, Gikuyu, Luhya, Dholuo, Kalenjin, and Kisii are some of the most popularly spoken languages in Kenya. Will their promotion delink us from the International borders? Is it that we can only produce experts in various fields eg, engineers, doctors, pilots, etc by learning English, and French ๐Ÿ˜ ?

My local SEO, Lead Me, In Eye Opening. Focus On Reality. Our National Heritage Is Worth.
