π³ππ°Now that the new government is here, the education sector shall be a victim of change. The government might initiate a new system, not for the benefit of Wanjiku but a legacy's benefitπ! Not many changes in the education system are Wanjiku-centered. These new leaders will only be busy ☹creating a legacy, but not education for Wanjiku. Wanjiku, who since time immemorial has never had a voice in the proper education deserved. π©π©π¦π¦ Would this be the best time for Wanjiku to initiate and implement the much-needed education system?
No Kenyan African parent can allow their 11-13-year-old
child to join 15-21-year-old secondary school boys and girls. This could be disastrous.
They would never cope.
No.Not at all. The original planner had decided
to put them in the same compound. They were expected to intermingle, eat,
reason, play, argue, learn, socialize, clean, and everything together. This
mixing could be the incubation of great indiscipline in our secondary schools.
Do you think this mixed up could increase drug abuse, sex abuse, unwanted
pregnancy, and homosexuality in schools?
It is in most African traditions to circumcise their children as a rite of passage. The passage from childhood to ‘adulthood’.This is done within an agreed age limit. A grade six leaver could not pass the age limit for circumcision. This then could leave them to join secondary schools not circumcised! The 8-4-4 secondary students could never allow them in their schools.
It is a good idea that junior secondary be domiciled
in primary schools.
I hope the current planners will find time to reason that grade 9 should not be domiciled in primary schools. Why? Domiciling de 9 to primary schools, it creates a need to construct a class in primary schools.
There shall be two available classes for grades
7&8 left vacant by classes 7&8, but no available class for grade 9 in
primary schools. This class is freely available in secondary schools. This
makes it cheap for both the government and the parents. No class construction is
needed. The class is available free of charge, and therefore, grade 9 qualifies
to be ‘domiciled ‘in secondary schools.
There is a great need to consider the school
uniform policy. Is it possible to have a common school uniform for grades 7 to
grade 12? Why is this necessary?
Well, after grade 8, the students shall join
secondary schools. This is only two years in a junior secondary school uniform.
If the senior secondary school uniform shall be different from the junior
secondary, then, the parents shall go shopping for a new uniform! This is
expensive for no reason at all. There is, therefore, a need to come up with a
common secondary school uniform policy.
What is your prediction on this government
education systemπ?
Will it listen to Wanjiku? Will it give Wanjiku a deaf earπ? We shall keep vigil hoping for the Best. The
Best System that will serve Kenyans well and turn around our economy, The
Bottom Up Approach π.
